Kiki has been a staple in the black gospel music industry and has released several albums over the last 10 years that have hit the top of the charts. Kierra Sheard is an American Gospel artist who was born on June 20th of 1987 in Detroit, Michigan. Her birth name is Kierra Valencia Sheard. She is one of the renowned artists and a descendent of the Clark family who are famous for Gospel Music, Art & Culture. Kierra is the daughter of Karen Clark Sheard and the grand daughter of the famous Gospel director Mattie Moss Clark. Her childhood days were spent surrounded by gospel and was raised with gospel in her blood.
She started singing for the choir at Emmanuel Institutional Church of God in Christ as the age of 6 and was pastored by her father Bishop J Drew Sheard. She started her career at the age of ten when she performed on tracks for her mother from the album “Finally Karen” which was back in 1997. With excellent teachings, guidance from her mother, and her aunts, she is mature in the craft of music and started singling for the ‘The Clarks Sisters’.
In 2002 Kierra was featured on her aunts Dorinda Clark Cole’s album. In 2003 Kierra signed her first label contract with EMI Gospel. One of her best albums to date is “I Owe You” which was released on September 7, 2004. Other popular album and songs include “This is Me” which was released in 2006. “Bold Right Life” was released in 2008 with the most popular single being “God In Me”.
This latest album ”Free” is already making a great debut in Black Gospel music. Kierra Sheard is a great Gospel artist, singer & songwriter.
