Bible Verses About Patience – God’s Timing

Patience is something we need as Christians as we go through our walk relying on God's perfect timing to show in our everyday lives.

“But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.”
– Isaiah 40:31

We’ve all heard it said that patience is a virtue. And deep in our hearts, we all know it to be true. But, unsurprisingly, patience is something that is far easier said than done. It’s in our human nature to grow irritated and restless when things don’t happen exactly how we want them to, when we want them to. Especially in a world of instant gratification, waiting can seem like the hardest thing to do. The truth, however, is that patience is far more than a good idea. It’s exactly what Jesus commands us to have.

In life, there are a multitude of situations that can test our patience. And some of these situations can be immensely painful to endure. Maybe you’ve been asking God for something for years, and you’ve always been left empty-handed. Maybe there has been a death in the family, and everyone is still searching for answers. But whether we’re going through a time of suffering or simply waiting in line at the grocery store, God can use those situations to strengthen our faith in Him.

About Patience Through Bible Verses

James 5:7 says this: “Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain.” All throughout scripture, we can see the importance of waiting upon the Lord. No matter how frustrating it can be, there is no denying that, at some point, every single person needs to simply rest. We need to learn to surrender control to our Creator instead of trying to do it all ourselves.

Often, we can become so afraid of running out of time that we forget to pause and enjoy each and every second. Everything that happens in our lives – the good and the bad – is all part of a grander plan that God has prepared for us long before we were even born. He knows exactly how our lives will play out, even if we have no idea. And, most importantly, He loves us and desires for us to have a joyful eternal future with Him. His perfect plan requires His perfect timing; so who are we to get in the way of that? Why do we always want to rush the beautiful picture that God has so carefully pieced together?

The Summary About Patience

Bible verses about patience is an area where everyone tends to fall short. There are times when waiting for God’s plan will seem easy. But there will also be times when in our struggle, each passing moment will seem like an eternity. Through it all, we must remember that what ultimately matters is what awaits us in heaven. We should be spending time in the Word, praying earnestly, and building our faith instead of worrying about what we cannot change. And by the grace of God, He will help us to be a little more patient every day.
