WASHINGTON, May 1, 2006—The youth based organization Worship by Choice will put on the production: The Devil Tested Me But God Preserved Me on May 5 and 6 at 7:00pm in Washington. The production will be held at Union Temple Baptist Church at 1225 W Street, SE.
The production focuses on the everyday lives and struggles of teenagers all across America. Through this presentation, WBC will address the many issues teens face today, such as AIDS and teen pregnancy. While it is the mission to fully display these common issues to an audience of both, mature and young minds, it is the hope to artistically insinuate possible solutions through song, spoken words of encouragement, liturgical dance, laughter, and dramatics.
With a mixed repertoire of contemporary and traditional gospel, and contemporary Christian music, the youth ensemble performed its debut concert in May 2005 entitled I’ll Make a Difference, and has shared the stage with gospel music legends Dorothy Norwood and Richard Smallwood.
Founded in January 2005 by college student, Gregory J. Watkins, Worship by Choice is a potentially Christian-based non profit organization and outreach music ministry comprised of high school students who come from all across the metropolitan area in order to collaborate in ministry and thus, change the hearts of many through song and words of encouragement.
