Niyoki is a fresh and compelling voice in contemporary Christian music, making music that blends infectious R&B/hip-hop grooves and soaring gospel inspiration that is sure to inspire gospel and CCM music lovers alike. Her album, My Everything, reveals a woman who is passionate about sharing the riches with which she has been blessed. Niyoki's music is joyful, hopeful and inspirational, capturing the essence of what it means to be unafraid of facing the toughest tests life has to offer and unwilling to stop at anything short of triumph.
More than just a song stylist, Niyoki had a hand in writing and producing all the songs on the album, injecting each one with the unwritten complexities and multiple challenges inherent in songs of faith, hope and love. The songs on the album touch on issues such as preparing ourselves for Christ's return, getting back in touch with our faith no matter where we are in our Christian walk and knowing that we are all worthy of Christ's love. Whether sharing her a cappella song "Yes Lord," the devotional tune "Praise Time" or the classic "Amazing Grace," Niyoki evokes a passionate love and reverence to the mighty Creator throughout the album. The world-class grooves on songs such as "Dance and Praise" make for a truly joyful noise, and guests, such as Prince drummer Kirk Johnson and members of Niyoki's own family, appear in supporting roles throughout the CD.
Before launching her solo career, Niyoki began her journey by touring steadily with her musical family from a tender age, performing alongside artists such as Grammy Award winner and Gospel Music Hall of Fall inductee Shirley Caesar and Stellar Award winning group The Williams Brothers. Niyoki and her sisters later branched into mainstream music, opening for the likes of Grammy Award winner Boyz II Men and American Music Award winner R. Kelly. In 2002, Niyoki toured and recorded with award-winning musical icon Prince.
