Yelder, a graduate of Ramsey High and current announcer and program director for Birmingham’s Heaven 610 WAGG promises to have a down-home, old-time church feel.
“As Tyscot approaches its 30th Anniversary, we wanted to feature a project that reflected the musical foundation of the church,” said Tracy Williams – Label Director.
Tyscot Records was founded in 1976 by Dr. Leonard S. Scott (a practicing Dentist), and L. Craig Tyson. The latter partner relinquished his share of the company to Dr. Scott who continues to grow the business today.
In 1988, Dr. Scott assigned the positions of Executive Vice President and General Manager to his 19 year old son, Bryant Scott. An honor student with great business acumen, Bryant directed the daily operations of the company. In 1992 adversity hit the company. With a loss of close to half a million dollars, Tyscot faced closure. The faith and tenacity of the visionaries, Dr. Scott and Bryant Scott, proved that with God all things are possible.
Today, Bryant Scott serves as President of Tyscot Records and under his direction the company has blossomed and grown into the giant it is today.
Tyscot Records is the home of some of the premier national recording artists, including, Voices of Unity featuring Deitrick Haddon, The Rance Allen Group, Rodnie Bryant & CCMC, Bishop Larry D. Trotter, Inner City Mass Choir featuring John P. Kee, Morris Chapman, Bishop L. Scott, Righteous Riders, and DeAndre Patterson.
