Mary Mary Album Review E-mail
ImageAfter three years from their latest project, Incredible, Mary Mary is back with their self-titled album that was released June 19, 2005. The hip female duet heated up the gospel scene five years ago with their debut release, Thankful, earning numerous awards. They experienced immediate success with the album as the hit single, “Shackles,” soared to the top of music charts around the world.
The dynamic duo, known as Erica and Tina Campbell have returned with their third powerful and extraordinary album Mary Mary. Featuring sensational tracks such as the emotionally-moving, Yesterday and the jazzy, big-band, Biggest Greatest Thing, the musical prowess is nothing short of masterful. Other tracks include the contemporary, Love you that Much, the jazzy And I, featuring Kirk Franklin, along with the worshipful, Speak to Me.

The acclaimed funky, 70’s style, Heaven, is a catchy groove that will get you on your feet. The song talks about how wonderful it will be when we get to heaven, and escaping the sadness of this world. Although we all want to go to heaven someday, we cannot get there without being saved. On the track, Save Me, the sisters tell God, “Save me now, please save me now…..I’m on my knees, down on the floor…you’re the one I need, Lord…save me now.”

This album delivers a strong message on how we can overcome our struggles through Christ. Tina and Erica demonstrate their growth through their ministries. Produced by Warryn Campbell, who is married to Erica, with Tina’s husband, Teddy Campbell, bass player and vocalist for the group, The Soul Seekers, the album is a family affair. With Warryn’s brilliant flair for musical expertise, the project sizzles with artistically diverse musical gems that exudes creative excellence. Image

As we witness the closing of 2005, we have also witnessed the rise of many gospel albums. There are albums that bless and touch lives in many ways. The newest album from Mary Mary reaches beyond the ordinary, by ministering about pain, joy, sadness, while proclaiming that God is the same God and can work miracles in our lives. We only have to let Him
